¾cupold-fashioned oatmeal
¼cuplight brown sugar
¾teaspoonground cinnamon
¼cupunsalted buttercut into ¼" cubes
¼cupwalnuts (optional), lightly toasted and chopped
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350℉ (180℃)
Combine oatmeal, butter, cinnamon and brown sugar in a medium bowl.
¾ cup old-fashioned oatmeal, ¼ cup light brown sugar, ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Using your hands, rub the butter into the dry ingredients until only small pieces of butter remain (about the size of a pea). Stir in walnuts if using.
¼ cup unsalted butter, ¼ cup walnuts (optional), lightly toasted and chopped
Use a paring knife or serrated spoon to carefully carve a wide, shallow well in the center of each apple. Be sure not to cut all the way through the bottom—this space will hold the filling.
4 medium apples
Place apples in a rimmed baking dish.
Spoon ¼ of the oatmeal mixture into the well of each apple.
Bake for 20 minutes. The filling will be bubbling and lightly browned.
