Equipment

  • 1 Pie Pan 9" or 10" pan
  • Bowls, measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients
 
 

  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • ¾ cup walnuts, chopped and lightly toasted
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • ¼ cup brown sugar light or dark brown sugar may be used

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 ℉
  • Melt butter and cool slightly.
  • Place walnuts in a food processor and grind into a nut flour (note: no large pieces should remain)
  • Combine graham cracker crumbs, brown sugar and ground walnuts in a medium bowl. Stir to combine.
  • Add melted butter to bowl. Stir until well distributed and walnuts and graham cracker crumbs are moistened..
  • Gently press mixture into the bottom and up the sides of pan.
  • Bake for 15 minutes. Cool before adding pie filling.

Notes

Note: If using for a no-bake pie filling, place the crust in the freezer for 10 minutes after assembling in your pie pan. After 10 minutes, remove the pan from the freezer and add your pie filling.
