This recipe for Apple Granola Parfaits creates a satisfying dessert. The natural sweetness and slight tartness of apples pair wonderfully with the crunchy, toasty flavor of granola. Add in layers of sweetened whipped cream and this dessert offers a satisfying contrast in textures and flavors.
Combine heavy cream and powdered sugar in a bowl. Whip until medium peaks form (medium peaks are when you lift the whisk out of the bowl the peaks hold but will bend over a bit). Set bowl aside.
Place ¼ cup of apple filling in the bottom of each parfait glass. Drizzle a small amount of caramel sauce over the apples.
Add a large dollop of whipped cream into each parfait glass. Using the back of a spoon, spread the whipped cream to the edges of the glass.
Place ¼ cup of granola into each parfait glass over the whipped cream.
Add another ¼ cup of apple filling in each parfait glass over the granola.
Sprinkle the remaining granola over the apple filling. Drizzle a small amount of caramel sauce over the apples.
Add the remaining whipped cream to each glass (to make swirls, place in a pastry bag with a star tip and pipe swirls into each glass).
Optional: drizzle with more caramel sauce, sprinkle with a few pieces of granola and add an apple chip
