These apple and granola parfaits are simple to assemble, requiring minimal preparation time. You can make them in advance and store them in the refrigerator, which is convenient for dinner parties or family gatherings.

Ingredients

Gather the following ingredients to make this recipe:

  • Apple filling: my recipe for apple filling works wonderfully in these parfaits. Alternatively, you may use cans of purchased apple pie filling from your grocer.
  • Granola: use any type of granola you prefer. Cinnamon and plain granola works well with this recipe.
  • Caramel: use a purchased caramel sauce or make your own using this recipe.
  • Heavy cream and powdered sugar: heavy cream and powdered sugar are mixed together to make the whipped cream layer.
  • Apple chips: (optional) you may purchases apple chips make your own. I made mine in an air-fryer using this recipe from The Chunky Chef.

Variations

This apple and granola parfait recipe is quite versatile and may easily be changed to suit a variety of tastes and dietary preferences. Consider the following:

  • Yogurt - replace the sweetened whipped cream with plain or cinnamon yogurt. The yogurt adds a new level of creaminess and makes the treat a bit healthier.
  • Other fruits - feel free to swap out the fruit filling with other fruits. Consider pear filling, blueberry filling, strawberry filling, etc...

Storage

These treats are best served the day they are made. The whipped cream is perishable so store these in the refrigerator until serving time. Please note, these apple and granola parfaits do not freeze well.

Apple Granola Parfaits

Equipment

  • 1 Hand or stand mixer
  • 6 Parfait Glasses 6 - 8 ounce capacity each
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients
 
 

  • 3 Cups Apple filling Homemade or store-bought
  • 2 Cups Granola
  • 2 Cups Heavy cream
  • ¼ Cup Powdered sugar
  • ¾ Cup Caramel sauce
  • 6 Slices Apple chips Optional

Instructions
 

  • Combine heavy cream and powdered sugar in a bowl. Whip until medium peaks form (medium peaks are when you lift the whisk out of the bowl the peaks hold but will bend over a bit). Set bowl aside.
  • Place ¼ cup of apple filling in the bottom of each parfait glass. Drizzle a small amount of caramel sauce over the apples.
  • Add a large dollop of whipped cream into each parfait glass. Using the back of a spoon, spread the whipped cream to the edges of the glass.
  • Place ¼ cup of granola into each parfait glass over the whipped cream.
  • Add another ¼ cup of apple filling in each parfait glass over the granola.
  • Sprinkle the remaining granola over the apple filling. Drizzle a small amount of caramel sauce over the apples.
  • Add the remaining whipped cream to each glass (to make swirls, place in a pastry bag with a star tip and pipe swirls into each glass).
  • Optional: drizzle with more caramel sauce, sprinkle with a few pieces of granola and add an apple chip
