Apple filling

  • 4 Medium Apples
  • 2 Tablespoons Brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Ground nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons Corn starch

Crisp topping

  • cup Light or dark brown sugar
  • cup Oatmeal
  • cup All-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup Unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
  • ½ teaspoon Ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375℉ (190℃)

Crisp Topping

  • Combine brown sugar, flour, oatmeal, butter and ground cinnamon in a bowl. Using your hands or a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment combine ingredients until it resembles coarse pieces.
    ½ teaspoon Ground cinnamon, ⅓ cup Light or dark brown sugar, ⅓ cup Oatmeal, ⅓ cup All-purpose flour, ¼ cup Unsalted butter, cut into small cubes

Apple filling

  • Wash, peel and core apples. Chop into small pieces approximately ⅓ of an inch.

  • Add the apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg to a saucepan. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, for about 3–4 minutes, until the apples just start to release their juices.

  • Take the pan off the heat and stir in the cornstarch until it’s fully mixed in. Let the apples cool for a few minutes before using.
    2 teaspoons Corn starch

Assemble and bake

  • Spoon ¼ of the apple mixture into each dish. Add a generous scoop of the crisp topping over the apples, then press down gently to help it stick and seal.
  • Bake for 15 - 18 minutes. Tops will be golden brown and apple filling will be bubbling. Cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.
