Equipment

  • 1 Microwave-safe bowl
  • 1 Rubber spatula
  • 1 Piping bag or tablespoon
  • 2 Sheet pans
  • 2 Parchment paper or wax paper sheets

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ Cups Chocolate chips, bittersweet
  • 1 teaspoon Coconut oil or vegetable oil
  • 12 large Pretzel rods
  • 24 small Googly eyes
  • 92 pieces Candy corn (7 for each pretzel plus extra for turkey 'beak')

Instructions

  • Prepare two sheet pans by lining with parchment or wax paper.
  • Cut the yellow portion off of 6 candy corns. Cut in half lengthwise (this is for the turkeys' noses)
  • Place chocolate chips and coconut oil (or vegetable oil) in a microwave-safe bowl. Melt the chocolate chips in 30-second intervals at 50% power, stirring after each heating until smooth.
  • Pipe or spoon dollops of melted chocolate on prepared sheet pans. Spread dollops to approximately 1½" circles (6 circles per sheet pan).
  • Place 7 pieces of candy corn in a fan shape on top each chocolate circle - leaving room between candy corn to insert pretzel rods
  • Dip the top third of each pretzel rod into the melted chocolate.
  • Place pretzel rod in between the candy corn fan. Repeat for each pretzel.
  • Add two googly eyes to each pretzel while the chocolate is still melted. Place the turkey noses you prepared early onto each pretzel rod.
  • Allow chocolate to set at room temperature (approximately 1 hour) or place in refrigerator for 15 minutes.
  • Peel turkey pretzels off of parchment or wax paper and transfer to a serving dish.
