Equipment

  • 2 Microwave-safe bowls
  • 1 Rubber spatula
  • 3 Pastry bags or tablespoon
  • 1 sheet pan
  • 1 Parchment paper or silicone mat or wax paper
  • Heart-shaped cookie cutters use various sizes
  • 1 Toothpick

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Almond bark your choice of colors (alternatively use candy melts)
  • 2 teaspoons Coconut oil or vegetable oil (optional)
  • Sprinkles or other decorations

Instructions

Prepare pan

  • Prepare a sheet pan by placing a piece of parchment paper or a silicone baking on the pan.
  • Place heart-shaped cookie cutters on pan (note: Use cookie cutters with a flat bottom to ensure a smooth process. Warped cookie cutters can cause almond bark to leak out, leading to a mess and uneven results.)

Melt almond bark

  • To melt almond bark, follow the manufacturer's instructions. I like to add a teaspoon of coconut oil to my bark before melting. This creates a smoother consistency.
  • Typically, you'll place the almond bark in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in the microwave at 50% power for 20-second intervals, stirring well each time until it's completely melted.
  • Once melted, pour the melted almond bark into pastry bags for easy use.

Decorating

  • Pipe a thin, even layer of the melted almond bark into each cookie cutter.
  • Work quickly to prevent the almond bark from setting, and drizzle thin lines of different colored melted almond bark over the base layer.
  • Use a toothpick to gently run through the almond bark, creating beautiful swirl patterns in each heart-shaped mold.
  • Add edible decorations like sprinkles, heart-shaped candies, or any other fun toppings to enhance the design.
  • Place pan in refrigerator for 30 minutes to allow almond bark to set.

Unmolding

  • Once the almond bark has fully set, gently press each heart out of the cookie cutters.

Notes

Be cautious when melting almond bark as it can scorch easily if overheated or heated too quickly. To ensure the best results, follow the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging closely. Using low and steady heat, whether in a microwave or on the stovetop, will help prevent burning and keep the texture smooth and ideal for dipping.
