Ingredients
You just need the following six ingredients to make the Frito Fruckies recipe:

- Fritos: one 9 ¼ ounce bag of the original Fritos.
- Granulated sugar and light corn syrup
- Peanut butter: use your choice of chunky or smooth (my preference is chunky).
- Mini chocolate chips: I recommend mini chips as these will melt better than the larger chips.
- Dry roasted peanuts: chop into small bits.
See recipe card for quantities.
Instructions

Butter a 9" x 13" heat-resistant baking pan. Pour Fritos into the pan.

Bring sugar and corn syrup to a boil. Use caution as the mixture is very hot.

Remove pan from heat. Add peanut butter and whisk until smooth.

Pour the hot mixture evenly over the Fritos.

Sprinkle chocolate chips over the Fritos and hot peanut butter syrup. Allow the chips to melt for a few minutes and smooth with an offset spatula.

Sprinkle peanuts over the chocolate. Allow the Fruckies to rest at room temperature until completely cooled (approximately one hour). Serve and enjoy!
Variations
Anything goes for a variation on this Fruckies recipe - use your imagination! Following are just a few examples.
- M&Ms - want a little more chocolate flavor and texture? Sprinkle a few handfuls of M&Ms over the chocolate topping.
- Pretzels - mix in a cup of mini-pretzels to the Fritos. This adds even more texture and salty goodness.
Equipment
You only need a few pieces of equipment to create this Fruckies recipe:
- A 9" x 13" heat-resistant baking dish at least 1" deep.
- A whisk, a spatula and a 2-quart saucepan.
Storage
Place the Frito Fruckies in an airtight container and store at room temperature for up to 4 days. Alternatively, wrap well and freeze for up to 2 months.
Top tip
Once the the peanut butter is mixed into the sugar/corn syrup mixture quickly pour it over the Fritos. You want the syrup hot when the chocolate topping is added so it melts properly. Place the pan in a 300° F oven for 5 minutes if the chocolate doesn't melt.

I was also intrigued by this recipe, incorporating all my favorites! Peanuts, chocolate and fritos! How could it miss? Well, it could be me. Others don't seem to have run into the same problems I did. My sugar, syrup. peanut butter mixture was not as voluminous as Stephanie's was, nor did it easily spread over the fritos! The fritos stuck to my spatula! the mixture was very stiff and just sat on top of the fritos. I note in the video, you just show AFTER the mixture has already been spread, whisking the spatula over it like, "wasn't that easy!" I have yet to try and cut a bar.....it will be interesting!
