The velvety smooth texture of the white chocolate is a nice contrast to the crunchy, juicy texture of the fresh strawberries. Also, these goodies provide a healthier option than most Halloween treats which are often loaded with sugar and artificial flavors.
Ingredients
Just three ingredient to make these spooky ghost strawberries:
- White chocolate candy wafers: often found in the baking aisle at your grocer or available online
- Fresh strawberries: wash and dry the strawberries prior to dipping in chocolate. Any excess moisture will cause the chocolate to seize up and become thick.
- Chocolate: to create the eyes and mouths for the ghosts

Instructions
See detailed instructions in the recipe card below. Also, be sure to check out this quick video for the steps involved:
Storage
Place finished strawberry ghosts in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator. These treats don't stand up well to freezing.
Top tip
Take care when melting the white chocolate candy wafers. Overheating can cause the wafers to burn and thicken. Carefully follow the instructions written on the package you purchase. Most often this will include melting in a microwave at 50% power in 20 - 30 second bursts and stirring well between each heating.
FAQ
You can use premade edible googly eyes (check out these). Place two googly eyes on each strawberry before the white chocolate sets. This will save you the step of melting and piping dark chocolate.
